First Aid for Mental Health Distance Learning

After a year of delivering high quality First Aid for Mental Health courses and receiving great feedback, I’m excited to embrace a new challenge thrown down by the current situation and to be able to deliver distance learning courses with a real connection, quality and personal touch.

First Aid for Mental Health Distance Learning

Now, more than ever, it’s vital to look out for signs and symptoms of poor mental health and start a supportive conversation, or just check-in, with a friend or colleague who may be struggling - whether that might be on the phone, over Skype or via Zoom. Signposting to self-help strategies or professional services could be life-changing or even life-saving. You can still learn these skills in times of social distancing and lockdown via a remote learning course with Respond Training. You won’t just be left ‘alone’ to carry out your study though, as I firmly believe, much as independent learning is great, interaction, discussion and a sharing of experiences is what really brings this training alive and deepens confidence to act and support in a non-judgmental manner.

How it works

  • Get in touch to ask any questions & request a booking form
  • Complete miniminal amount of paperwork
  • Make payment via BACS (full payment for individual learner/deposit for group)
  • Receive a manual in the post
  • Receive Distance Learning Resource by email (with links to the PowerPoint slides, videos, websites and relevant page numbers in the manual).
  • Work through agreed number of modules
  • Attend guided learning sessions or tutorials via Zoom at agreed times
  • On completing course, take part in an assessment which consists of a professional discussion via Zoom (including responding to a set scenario for L2 & L3)
  • Receive e-certificate on succesful completion - valid for 3 years

I'm happy to be as flexible as possible to make these courses work in the way that suits you best, whilst adhering to the guideline set down by the awarding body  (as they are all Ofqual regulated qualifications). Over the past year of delivering courses, I have always made every effort to develop a strong relationship with my clients and to offer a training which is  high in quality and as relevant to them as possible.

I'm really happy to provide the courses for individual learners who may want to do something constructive with some extra spare time that they find on their hands, or for a number of employees from a business or organisation, who want to complete the qualification via independent  learning but who might want to join together for guided learning webinar/discussions.

The course content is exactly the same as that for class-based, face-to-face learning and can be found on the website, along with a bit more detail about myself and some testimonials.

Please do get in touch if you’d like a chat to find out more or to sign up for a course.
